Pevensey is a small village and civil parish on the south-east coast of the Wealden district of East Sussex in southern England. The village's history is tied to its famous castle. The castle earliest stone remains date form the Roman period, it was built between 300 and 340 as the Roman fort of Anderitum. The south and eastern seaboards of Britannia were collectively known as 'the Saxon Shore' and several large forts. The sea Pevensey Marshes surrounding Anderida, sheltered, Hailsham, Rickney, Horse Eye, and North Eye. In Olden days English word 'eye' is known the name of island.
